The Air War Publications team is very excited to share our latest news with you: the Nachtjagd Over The Eastern Front book is going to the print shop at the beginning of May. It will be printed and bound in that month and shipped to our warehouse, ready for distribution in early June. We are working intensively to tie up all the loose ends and ‘move around the last commas’, in order to provide you with another top-notch Luftwaffe book.
With very little written about the topic in the English language, Sven, Morten and Adam (and some valued helpers) have put a huge amount of work into this project, including very extensive research, as evidenced by the eleven-page sources section!
The book will contain 316 pages, 236 photos, 22 of Morten’s excellent maps, 13 profiles by premier aviation artist Claes Sundin, 20 wartime illustrations (including many drawings from NJG 100 pilot Gustav Francsi’s personal diary), more than 50 tables, and much more besides.
One very ‘last minute’ addition was obtained two weeks ago, when Morten received high-quality scans of the photo album belonging to successful NJG 100 pilot Josef Pützkuhl. This resulted in some new photos for the book, but also access to original prints of images already in the book. Many of the photos came with additional information written on the back, or on the photo album pages. We are very grateful to the Pützkuhl family for their help, and for entrusting us with the photo album to scan and return.

Two weeks ago Morten received the colour proof prints from the print shop, and they look fantastic. If all goes according to the plan, the book will be available in June. As with all our other printed and digital releases, you will be able to purchase the book directly from the Air War Publications website.

We very much look forward to making this book available to you. Whether you are interested in night fighters in general, the Eastern Front air war, or one of the aircraft types operated (He 111, Bf 110, Ju 88, Do 217, and Fw 189), this book will be an interesting and informative read, and a must for your bookshelf.
