A biography of successful fighter pilot and Ritterkreuzträger Horst Hannig, who joined the Luftwaffe a month after the war started. He made a comet career on the Eastern Front, flying with Jagdgeschwader 54 from the beginning of the invasion of the Soviet Union. In 1942 he transferred to the Channel Front and became a Staffelkapitän with JG 2 and got close to scoring 100 kills.
