The Sinking of LST-158

This article is a detailed account of the ‘hit-and-run’ attack carried out by two ground attack pilots of Schnellkampfgeschwader 10 against Landing Ship Tank 158 on 11 July 1943. Included are accounts from American naval personnel who experienced the attack on board LST-158, as well as a discussion of the consternation caused in the upper ranks of the US Navy by these frequent Focke-Wulf 190 ‘sneak attacks’. In addition, this 12-page article contains eleven photos, three colour maps and an aircraft profile by renowned illustrator Claes Sundin.
