A biography of fighter pilot and Jagdgeschwader 2 Staffelkapitän Kurt Goltzsch, who joined the Reichwehr as a mechanic in October 1934, but ended up becoming a successful fighter pilot. He flew in the Battle of Britain, claiming three victories, and continued to fly against the Western Allies on the Channel Front and later in North Africa.

The article uses a variety of primary and secondary sources to tell the story of Kurt Goltzsch, including logbooks, German wartime documents, and snippets from Allied intelligence material.
