Just over a week ago Morten was fortunate to be sent to central Germany in connection with work. By pure chance, a widow that Andrew had found and corresponded with a few months before lived 60 km away from the place Morten was working at for two days.
Despite a slightly chaotic process to establish and plan a visit to the widow, Morten succeeded in visiting during the last hours of his trip. It turned out to be very well worth the effort, as she had plenty of material relevant to the Fw 190 Fighting Over Southern Italy and Courland book projects – diaries, Flugbücher, photos, many letters between father and son, often containing stories and information from the frontline. After spending almost three hours photographing material, Morten left a very happy man.
