Striking at the Allied Advance

This eArticle tells the story of how the ground attack unit, Schnellkampfgeschwader 10, fought against American naval and land forces in mid-August 1943 towards the end of the Sicilian campaign, as well as covering the American landing at Brolo on the morning of 11 August 1943. It turned into a disaster, with the landing force almost wiped out. Included are accounts from Luftwaffe pilot Leutnant Klaus Jost who flew over Sicily during this period. In addition, this 12-page article contains eleven photos, three colour maps and an aircraft profile by renowned illustrator Claes Sundin.
